Marta Pallarès Olivares
Marta Pallarès is a communications professional and cultural advocate from Barcelona, whose journey began in music journalism and has evolved into a leadership role in the international festival landscape. With a master's degree in cultural journalism and enriched by years working in Mexico City's vibrant scene, she returned to her hometown to work at one of Europe's most influential music festivals, Primavera Sound. After managing their livestream partnership with Red Bull TV, she was entrusted with leading the festival's international communications strategy.
In 2023, she assumed the role of Head of Press, leading a team responsible for press releases, audiovisual rights and media credentials. She also serves as the company's official spokesperson, representing their pioneering initiatives in gender-balanced lineups, innovative protocols against sexual harassment, and sustainability projects. Her work as the person in charge of the festival's institutional relations has allowed her to speak at major conferences globally both in Europe, the USA and South East Asia, and at official hearings for bodies such as the UK Parliament.
Since 2019, she has coordinated Primavera Sound's partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals campaign, advancing projects that align with their commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Beyond Primavera Sound, she serves on the board of YOUROPE, the European Festival Association, representing 122 festivals from 30 European countries, which enables her to support, advocate for, and learn from, the cultural sector at a continental level.
In recognition of her dedication and impact within the industry, she was honored to receive the 2024 Excellence Award (personality) in the Iberian Festivals Awards, a prize which is awarded by a jury of Spanish and Portuguese professionals. She was also included in the prestigious Women of Live 2024 list by Pollstar, the leading publication in the music industry in the USA.
