KT Sonnen started in security fresh out of completing her undergraduate degree, mainly to rebel against everyone that was telling her she should be a copper! In the 17 years since she has worked and consulted on a variety of projects across the security, medical provision, health & safety, transport, event control, and crowd management threads, both within the UK and abroad, and delivers training in many of these topics.

Through the Centre for Peace and Security at Coventry University, she is researching safety and security at large music events, including expected levels of attendee safety, and the psychological impact of security measures.
