John Rostron

John Rostron is the Chief Executive of the Association of Independent Festivals, the UK's leading festival representative body. AIF membership has now surpassed 100 of the leading independent music festivals in the UK. AIF leads on the campaign to reduce VAT on tickets to 5% for the next three years in order to support festivals and audiences. During 2023 John initiated the First Festival Campaign to present a new way for 18 year olds to access UK festivals. John formed a new All Party Parliamentary Group for Festivals which enables independent festivals to meet with MPs from across the UK to improve understanding of the festival sector. He also Chairs the LIVE Expert Group for festivals.

In 2023 John was appointed to the Board of Creative Wales - the Welsh Govt department for the Creative Industries. He advises on the Music Sector in Wales.

John lives in North Wales and enjoys running in Eryri.
