Gemma joined the Newman Events team, fresh from finishing her A-Levels back in 2016. She started as a casual employee, before joining the office team part time as a recruitment and operations assistant, working her way up to her current role as Assistant General Manager, the second highest role within the company currently.

In 2021, she was asked to write an editorial for the crowd magazines specialist issue on ‘Celebrating Women in the Events Industry’. In 2022 she was listed as one of Access All Area’s 30 under 30 for the events industry, as well as a finalist for ‘Unsung Hero’ at the Festival Supplier Awards in 2023.

Her experience out on the ground at the beginning of her career, has only enhanced her understanding of working within the crowd management industry and supports her now in a managerial role. She is very passionate about not only encouraging people to join the crowd management industry post education, but encouraging females particularly to explore the industry, as it is so male dominated currently.
