We are a community & network of women in events striving for a more equitable events industry.
The Network of Women in Events (NOWIE) was established in 2013, with the goal of improving the working landscape for women in the live events industry. NOWIE defines a woman as anyone who identifies or is happy to be identified as part of a group of women. Founded on the principles of women supporting women and the importance of community to bolster success, NOWIE amassed an online following of over 7,000 women. In the years since, NOWIE has undergone many big changes: Cat Kevern became Chair of the organisation in 2021, and most recently, reformed NOWIE as a Community Interest Company (CIC). With an ever-expanding roster of annual projects and events, and overseen by a stellar Board of Advisors, NOWIE continues to strive for better opportunities for women in the events sector at all stages of their career, through networking, community and improved representation. Currently, NOWIE’s online community stands at over 10,000 members across various platforms, and over 350 official members.
NOWIE remains dedicated to creating a supportive and equitable environment for women in the events industry at all stages of their careers. We provide a wide range of career support and opportunities, and are always working to ensure our events and resources are as accessible as possible. We foster professional growth, champion diversity, and inclusivity, providing a safe and empowering community built by women, for women.
